Where to Stay Near Harry Potter Studio Tokyo
Whole houses 1–3 train stops from Harry Potter Studio Tokyo: sleep 6–9, full kitchen, from ¥12,000 (about US$80) a night.

The best place to stay near Harry Potter Studio Tokyo is northwest Tokyo, around Nerima and Ekoda stations on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, not Shinjuku or Asakusa. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter sits next to Toshimaen Station in Nerima, and from Nerima Station it is one stop on the Seibu Toshima Line. Our houses sit near Nerima Station (one stop from Toshimaen) and Ekoda Station (two stops before Nerima on the same line), so the studio is a short ride instead of a long trip across the city.
We run furnished houses in this part of Tokyo, and the studio is the most common reason our guests give for picking the area. This guide covers where the studio is, how to reach it, which neighborhoods work best, and which of our homes fits which group.
Where exactly is Harry Potter Studio Tokyo?
The official address is 1-1-7 Kasugacho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo. The studio was built on the site of the former Toshimaen amusement park, which closed in 2020, and it opened in June 2023. The official site lists it as a 2-minute walk from Toshimaen Station.
Two railway lines serve Toshimaen:
- Seibu Ikebukuro Line / Seibu Toshima Line. The studio's site gives 17 minutes direct from Seibu Ikebukuro Station to Toshimaen. Some trains from Ikebukuro run straight through; on others you change at Nerima for the one-stop Toshima Line shuttle.
- Toei Oedo Line. The studio's site gives 20 minutes direct from Shinjuku Station. On the Oedo Line, Toshimaen is the stop after Nerima, toward Hikarigaoka.
Nerima is mostly residential. That is the key point for planning: the studio is not in the tourist center, so a hotel in Shinjuku, Shibuya or Asakusa means riding in and out on the day of your visit. If you stay near Nerima, the commute shrinks to a few stops.
New since March 1, 2026: the airport limousine bus route between Haneda Airport and the Hikarigaoka/Nerima area added a stop called "Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo" at the studio entrance, according to the studio's location page. Check stops and booking with Airport Transport Service before you rely on it.
Why stay near the studio instead of central Tokyo?
There are three practical reasons, and they matter most for families and groups.
Time on the day
The studio recommends allowing three to four hours inside, and there is no time limit once you are in. Add a timed entry slot you must hit within 30 minutes, and the day is long. A short ride home means you can book an early slot without a dawn start, or stay until closing without a long trip back.
Space for a family or group
Standard Tokyo hotel rooms are small, and a family of five often needs two rooms. A whole house gives you separate bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a washing machine. After a full day on your feet, that space is the difference between a calm evening and a cramped one.
Cost
Residential Nerima is priced for local life, not for tourists. Our 2-bedroom house near Nerima Station starts at ¥12,000 (about US$80) a night for two guests, and our largest house sleeps nine. You also save by cooking breakfast and dinner at home instead of eating every meal near the attractions.
Which neighborhoods near the studio are best?
Three areas work well. All are in or next to Nerima Ward and on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line or the Oedo Line.
Nerima Station area
Nerima Station is the ward's main hub. It is served by the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, the Seibu Toshima Line and the Toei Oedo Line, so Toshimaen is one stop away on either Seibu or Oedo. This is the closest base we offer. It suits travelers whose main goal is the studio, or who want to go twice.
Ekoda
Ekoda is two stops east of Nerima on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line (Ekoda, Sakuradai, Nerima), then one more stop to Toshimaen. It is a college neighborhood with Musashi University and Nihon University College of Art nearby, plenty of casual restaurants and supermarkets, and a local train ride of about six minutes to Ikebukuro. Only local trains stop at Ekoda, so check the board before you board. For a full picture of the area, see our Ekoda and Nerima stay guide.
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is the big hub at the start of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, with department stores, Sunshine City and the JR Yamanote Line. It is a good base if the studio is one day of a longer trip. Expect hotel prices and smaller rooms. If you need a longer stay, our Ikebukuro monthly apartment guide covers furnished homes a few stops out.

Minimum stay is two nights. This is the house for two families, or grandparents, parents and kids together.

An 8-minute walk from Ekoda Station on a quiet residential street. Kitchen, bathroom and toilet are downstairs, with three bedrooms upstairs and a balcony. For a family of six staying four nights, that works out to ¥128,000 (about US$853) in total at base rates, including cleaning.
Hasu House: monthly stays
If you are in Tokyo for a month or more, Hasu House is a two-story monthly rental house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small garden and a 55-inch smart TV. You can rent the whole house or a single room when available; single rooms start at ¥90,000 (about US$600) a month for one guest. It is not a nightly option, so it suits long stays rather than a short studio trip. Our family apartment in Tokyo guide compares it with our nightly houses.
What should I know about tickets before booking a stay?
Book your studio tickets first, then the house. Entry is by date and time slot, and popular slots sell out. The basics from the official site:
- Prices from July 1, 2026: Adult (18+) ¥6,600 to ¥7,300 (about US$44 to US$49); Junior (12–17) ¥5,500 to ¥6,000 (about US$37 to US$40); Child (4–11) ¥4,000 to ¥4,400 (about US$27 to US$29). Prices vary by date. Children 3 and under enter free but need a free infant ticket.
- Where to buy: the official website, the on-site ticket office if slots remain, or authorized sellers such as 7-Eleven. Tickets from unauthorized resellers are not valid.
- Changes: tickets are non-refundable. Changing the date or time costs ¥1,500 (about US$10) each time, and you must contact Visitor Services before your original slot.
- Arrival: you can enter the lobby up to one hour before your slot and should start the tour within 30 minutes of it.
Because our houses allow free cancellation until 14 days before check-in, a good order is: secure tickets, book the house, then build the rest of your Tokyo days around them.
What does a studio day look like from a Nerima base?
Here is how a typical day runs for a family staying near Ekoda or Nerima.
- Morning: breakfast at home with groceries from a nearby supermarket. No hunting for a café near an unfamiliar station.
- Getting there: local train to Nerima, then one stop to Toshimaen, or a through train if one is coming. Aim to reach the studio 30–60 minutes before your slot. The lobby has the Food Hall, the Frog Café and lockers.
- Inside: three to four hours. The tour is a walk-through of sets, props and costumes, from the Great Hall to Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest, with interactive spots such as "flying" a broomstick. There are no rides. The Backlot Café sits about halfway and serves Butterbeer, a non-alcoholic drink.
- Afternoon: a short ride back. Kids nap, adults put the laundry on, and nobody has to cross the city at rush hour with shopping bags.
- Evening: cook at home or walk to a local restaurant. If you have a spare day, Shakujii Park, a few stops west on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, has two ponds, rental boats and woodland paths.
FAQ
How far is Harry Potter Studio Tokyo from Nerima Station?
One stop. Take the Seibu Toshima Line or the Toei Oedo Line from Nerima to Toshimaen, then walk about 2 minutes to the entrance. The Seibu Toshima Line ride itself is only a couple of minutes.
Is Nerima far from central Tokyo?
No. Local trains from Ekoda reach Ikebukuro in about six minutes, and from there the JR Yamanote Line connects to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ueno. The Oedo Line from Nerima also runs to Shinjuku.
Can I use the Japan Rail Pass to get to the studio?
No. The Seibu lines and the Toei Oedo Line are not JR lines. Use a Suica or PASMO IC card instead.
Is the studio suitable for young children?
Yes, with planning. It is a walking tour with no rides, pushchairs are allowed, and free pushchair rentals are available at the Information Desk. Children 3 and under enter free with an infant ticket. A nearby house makes a midday or post-visit nap easy.
