How to Get From Ekoda & Ikebukuro to Harry Potter Studio

Train routes to Harry Potter Studio Tokyo from Ekoda, Nerima, Ikebukuro and Shinjuku: 1–3 stops, about 10–20 minutes, no JR Pass needed.

To get to Harry Potter Studio Tokyo, ride to Toshimaen Station and walk about 2 minutes to the entrance. From Ekoda, take a local train on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line two stops to Nerima, then one stop on the Seibu Toshima Line to Toshimaen. From Ikebukuro the studio lists 17 minutes direct, and from Shinjuku 20 minutes on the Toei Oedo Line.

We host guests in houses near Ekoda and Nerima stations, and this is the trip they ask about most. Here are the routes we give them.

How do I get from Ekoda to Harry Potter Studio Tokyo?

You have two good options.

Route 1: Seibu Ikebukuro Line via Nerima (easiest)

  1. At Ekoda Station, board a westbound local train (toward Nerima and Tokorozawa). Only local trains stop at Ekoda.
  2. Ride two stops: Sakuradai, then Nerima.
  3. Some local trains run straight through from Nerima to Toshimaen. If yours shows Toshimaen as its destination, stay on. If not, get off at Nerima and change to the Seibu Toshima Line for the one-stop ride to Toshimaen.
  4. Walk about 2 minutes from Toshimaen Station to the studio entrance.

Riding time is roughly 10 minutes. The Toshima Line shuttle does not run every few minutes, so allow 20–30 minutes door to door from our Ekoda houses, including the walk to the station and any wait at Nerima.

Route 2: Toei Oedo Line from Shin-Egota

Shin-Egota Station on the Oedo Line is about 0.6 km (0.4 mi) south of Ekoda Station. From there, ride two stops toward Hikarigaoka: Nerima, then Toshimaen. This is useful if the Seibu connection at Nerima has a long wait, or if you are coming back from Shinjuku later in the day.

How do I get there from Nerima Station?

It is one stop. Take the Seibu Toshima Line or the Toei Oedo Line (toward Hikarigaoka) to Toshimaen. The Seibu ride takes only a couple of minutes. This is why Nana House Nerima, our 2-bedroom house near Nerima Station, is our closest home to the studio.

How do I get there from Ikebukuro?

Go to Seibu Ikebukuro Station, which is part of the big Ikebukuro complex but separate from the JR platforms. Follow the signs for the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.

  • Direct trains: the studio's official site gives 17 minutes from Seibu Ikebukuro to Toshimaen on a direct train. Look for Toshimaen on the departure board.
  • Other trains: take any train that stops at Nerima, then change to the Seibu Toshima Line for one stop. Some faster train types skip Nerima, so check the stops on the board.

How do I get there from Shinjuku or the airport?

From Shinjuku, take the Toei Oedo Line toward Tochomae and Hikarigaoka. The studio's site gives 20 minutes direct to Toshimaen; depending on the train, you may need to change at Tochomae, the next stop, onto a Hikarigaoka-bound train. The Oedo platforms are deep underground, so allow a few extra minutes to reach them.

From Haneda Airport, the airport limousine bus route to the Hikarigaoka and Nerima area added a stop at the studio entrance from March 1, 2026, according to the studio's location page. Check the timetable and reservations with Airport Transport Service before relying on it.

What should I know before I ride?

  • Use an IC card. Suica or PASMO cards work on Seibu and Toei lines. Tap in and out; no need to buy separate tickets.
  • The JR Pass does not cover this trip. Seibu and Toei are not JR lines.
  • Toshimaen has two stations. The Seibu and Oedo stations are separate buildings close to each other. Both are a short walk from the studio.
  • Mind your time slot. The studio asks you to start your tour within 30 minutes of your booked time, and you can enter the lobby up to one hour before it. Leave a margin for the transfer at Nerima.
  • Leave big bags at home. Bags are checked at entry and large suitcases go through scanners. Outdoor lockers exist, but a nearby base means you do not need them.
